Romeo of Outback CD1, PH.. Romeo's a clown, and Victoria's favorite. With 92 points towards his championship, he was probably just a show away from being the first predominantly brindle American Bulldog to obtain his bully championship. Unfortunately he came to Australia when he was 2 years old, and hasn't had a chance to compete in the ring since being here. He's NCL clear, Ichthyosis clear, has a PennHip rating in the top 10%, (.31 .38), and has a Catchdog 1 title. He has good drive, is not particularly animal aggressive (he loves to hang around our horse), and has big teeth! He weighs around 105 lbs (48kgs.)., and is a beautiful short-backed dog. While he's a little more aloof around strangers than 2E, he's still completely dependable around people (It sometimes can take him about 2 or 3 minutes before he accepts someone). He also holds the dubious distinction of producing the most semen in one hit at our vet clinic. (16 breedings worth, while the previous record was 12. And they do a lot of reproductive work with racing greyhounds, among other breeds!!) While he is athletic and powerful, we have to be careful with Romeo here on the Sunshine Coast because of the heat. He has a very short muzzle, and so doesn't handle high heat and humidity well. He has caught a hog and done some bite work, but we always worry about over-heating him, so only did enough to prove he could and would do it.

Balzac

Balzac's sire Rob Boyd's Hammer

Outback's Balzac of J.R. was purchased from my friend Jeff Richman back in 2001.  He has an OFA excellent prelim, and his .24 .28 PennHip score is probably within the best 1% or so of American Bulldogs.  He'll be 12 years old in August, and is still going strong.
We already had too many dogs when I bought him from Jeff (who felt he had to sell him, but didn't really want to), so shortly after I got him I found a great owner named Eric Nave.  Eric has been with him for close to 10 years now.  Eric had Balzac NCL tested, and he is NCL clear and appears to be clear of Ichthyosis as well.  Balzac is good with kids and Eric's other dogs, and as you can see by the middle picture above, does not have to be dog aggressive.  (Although a strange dog encroaching on his territory will be in trouble in a hurry.)  Weighing just under 90 lbs.(40kgs), he's extremely athletic and is physically and structurally well-balanced.  Balzac's sire is Rob Boyd's "Hammer", who is pictured on the cover of Dave Putnam's "The Working American Bulldog" book.

Grand Champion 2 Spots None the Richer of Outback GDT, CD2, WB2, WP1. 2E was our first, and so far only ABA Grand Champion. Besides his obviously beautiful structure, he has the temperament that we should all be striving for in our bulldogs. He's super-friendly and dependable with people, not aggressive with other dogs, (and that includes males!), yet fires up when it comes to protection work or catching a hog. He has very high prey drive, but he's clear-headed about it. At 101 lbs. (46kgs.) he's big enough to be intimidating, yet agile enough to be able to get out of his own way. He isn't perfect, however. He's a carrier of NCL and Ichthyosis,  his PennHip score of .48 .61 was just below the average, (at that time the average was .59), his teeth are a touch on the small side, (I love bulldogs with BIG teeth), and he snores. Besides his being a confirmation Grand Champion, he has a few titles. They are: Working Bulldog2, Catchdog2, and Weight Pull1. 2E's a very easy dog to live with.    Aug. 2000 - Sept. 2010

Gryffyndogge of Outback CD2, WB2, WP1, PH. Gryffyn is Romeo's littermate. He developed a little more slowly than Romeo, and was always expected to be our working/hog-hunting dog. He has "off-the-chart" prey drive, and loves to run like no other bulldog I've ever owned. With a slightly longer muzzle, he breathes very cleanly and has terrific endurance. As with all bulldogs, one has to be at least somewhat careful with heat and humidity, because he would certainly literally run himself to death if given half a chance. He's a kamikaze style bulldog, one that would rather run through something than around it. I desexed Gryff, in the hopes that it would give him a little more self control. While he's not as dominant now, his drive is still something to behold. Gryffyn's PennHip score was .27 .34. While PennHip lists it as top 10%, he's probably in the top 2 to 3%! He has Working Dog 2, CatchDog 2, and Weight Pull 1 titles, along with about 40 points towards a championship. With his drive, huge teeth, bone-crushing jaws and at about 103 lbs. (47kgs.), he certainly is NOT a dog for everyone. Until he was desexed, he was very aloof with strangers. Strangely enough, he was the favorite of all our dogs among the kennel people at the quarantine station in Sydney, where our dogs had to spend 30 days. He was also a favorite with the trainer that did basic bite-work with him. Once he gets to know you he's very gentle and obedient. At our fun show here last year he kicked 2E's butt in the IronDog competition. . Gryff is one of those dogs that heals very fast and has always had a rock-hard constitution. Unfortunately Gryffyn is a carrier of NCL and Ichthyosis.

Outback's Tumani

Russo's Tumani of Outback PH. Russo's Tumani of Outback is out of our Grand Champion "2 Spots None the Richer" and "Outback's Domani".  Tumani, at 92 lbs. (42 kgs.) is somewhat smaller than his dad, but more athletic. Fortunately he has 2E's exceptional
temperament, as well as his terrific drive. He is not aggressive towards dogs, other animals, or people, and yet I'm certain that if we
start bitework with him he'll excel at it. With a PennHip score of .37 .41, his hip score is in the top 10% of all American Bulldogs in
the U.S. and he's NCL clear, but a carrier of Ichthyosis.  We were thrilled to be able to import him here from the U.S., and would like to thank Chris and Linda Russo for allowing us to get him back.    Feb., 2004 - Sept., 2010
